The world is changing faster than school. Your child deserves more: deeply personalized learning, hands-on days with real friends, and a family life with room to breathe.

AI can already do the follow-the-instructions curriculum school spent years training children to do—and it does it better, personalizing to each learner. You can't get that in a classroom with a 20:1 ratio.
Meanwhile childhood has grown thin: more screens, more managed schedules, less room to explore, build, and belong. Children need a future-ready education—and a real childhood.
There is a better way. We're building it.
Learn, shop, and cook together!

Explore + create in nature.

Design. Build. Problem solve.

A hunger to ask and chase answers.
Starting things without being told.
"I can do hard things."
Pivoting when the plan changes.
Managing emotions and effort from within.
Knowing you belong in the room.
Imagining and making something new.
Expressing, leading, and sharing.
Reading people, resolving conflict, connecting.
Adding to something bigger than yourself.
Skip School has given our kids so many of their favorite memories—and new friends who feel like family.
I love seeing my child light up with curiosity and come home proud of what they created or discovered.

6–12 families in your community learn and explore together.

Hands-on adventures 1–2× per week, led by parent coordinators.

Curiosity drives the mission. Adults support and guide.

Kids reflect, share, and celebrate their wins together.
No — and that's on purpose. Skip School is a learning community, not a traditional school. Families gather in small local pods for hands-on “mission days” where kids lead and adults support, then use deeply personalized learning the rest of the week. We're building a future-ready education and a richer childhood.
Each pod is 6–12 families in the same community who learn and explore together. Hands-on mission days happen 1–2 times per week, led by parent coordinators. Curiosity drives each mission; adults guide rather than direct. Afterward, kids reflect on, share, and celebrate what they built and discovered.
Skip School is designed for elementary-aged children, with mission days and the Growth Compass tailored to how young kids actually learn — through play, building, exploration, and real friendship. Reach out about your child's age and we'll tell you what pods are forming near you.
The Growth Compass is how we think about a thriving life — ten capacities that matter far more than grades on a worksheet: curiosity, agency, perseverance, adaptability, self-regulation, confidence, creativity, communication, interpersonal skills, and contribution. Every mission is designed to grow these.
A mission is a hands-on challenge or adventure — building, testing, creating, performing, or caring for living things. Kids work through real problems, hit real obstacles, and figure things out together. You can see dozens of real examples on our Missions page.
Mission days are led by parent coordinators, and families share in making the pod work — but you don't need to be a teacher. The model is built around kids leading their own learning while adults create the conditions and support them. It's a community effort, not a solo homeschooling burden.
